Hello, world!
You may be wondering who still blogs (let alone starts new blogs) in 2024. Well, that
would be me. You may be wondering why the world needs another blog in 2024. That is
both a fair and excellent question – and one that I’m not 100% sure I’ve answered for
myself. With this introductory post, maybe I can convince you (and me) that this blog
can be both needed and useful in 2024 and beyond.
First things first, my name is Nathan (obviously). And I know things. Well, I like to think
that I know things. And I think there are some things that I know that other people would
like to know. At this point you’re probably unimpressed and are skeptical that I’m just
another unqualified, egotistical know it all. Now, I do have a PhD in chemical
engineering, so I’d like to think that I’m qualified to say I do know some things.
But I’m not so brazen as to think that I know everything about everything. In fact, in the
grand scheme of things I would say that I actually know very little. But if there’s one
thing you should know about me is that I like to learn. And I have certainly had the
opportunity to learn a lot after recently moving to Boulder, CO from Knoxville, TN. Still, I
think there are a lot of things to learn. Perhaps we can learn things together. Or perhaps
you can simply follow and laugh along as I try and (likely) fail to learn new things.
I know this isn’t an especially long or informative post, and I likely did not even really
answer the initial question I meant to. However, I’ve found that the hardest part of any
new venture is just getting started. So I will end here and claim to have successfully
created my first post.
Here’s to new adventures.
